The questions we get most often.
How we work, what the hardware costs to run, who installs it, and what happens when something goes wrong — answered plainly. If yours isn't here, ask us.
Frequently asked questions
SwiftPay works with merchants in Australia, the United States and Canada. Our Australian office is at 5 Charles Smith Avenue, Bungarribee, New South Wales 2767, and you can reach us on +61 466 230 370 in Australia or +1 404 910 8918 in the US and Canada. If you trade in more than one of those markets, say so up front, because the right setup differs country by country.
An Independent Sales Organisation is an authorised reseller and service partner for a payments platform. SwiftPay is a registered ISO for Clover (a Fiserv product) and for Nuvei, which means we sell, install, configure and support the hardware and your merchant processing, but we are not the acquirer or the processor ourselves. In practice, your money moves on the partner's licensed platform, and we are the people you call when something needs setting up or fixing.
You get both options put in front of you. We look at what you sell, how you sell it, your average transaction size, whether you need online payments as well as in-store, and which platform is available and sensible in your country. We give you a recommendation with the reasoning written out, and the decision stays yours.
On Clover we supply the Flex, Mini, Station Duo, Station Solo, Kiosk and Go. On Nuvei we supply the PAX A920 Pro, the PAX A80 and the Nuvei Desk/5000. That covers countertop, handheld, mobile and self-serve setups, and we match the device to how your floor actually works rather than selling you the biggest one.
We don't publish rates, because an honest quote depends on your business: card mix, average ticket, monthly volume, industry and risk profile, whether you take payments online, how many terminals you need, and whether you buy or rent the hardware. If you have a recent processing statement, send it over and we'll price against it line by line. What comes back is a written quote with the fees named individually, not rolled up into one flattering number.
It depends on the platform, your country, and how quickly the application and underwriting checks clear, and the document-gathering is usually the slow part rather than anything technical. Once we've seen your application we give you a realistic timeline in writing, and we tell you early if something looks likely to hold it up. Having your business and identity documents ready before you apply is the single biggest thing that speeds it up.
We set the terminal up, connect it to your network or mobile data, load your items, menu or product list where that applies, and run test transactions before we leave. Then we train your staff on the daily reality: sales, refunds, tipping and surcharging where you use them, end-of-day settlement, and the handful of faults that people fix themselves. We also show a manager where the reporting lives, so you're not calling us to find yesterday's takings.
Sometimes, and we'll tell you honestly. Terminals are provisioned to the platform they were sold for, so a device tied to another provider often cannot simply be moved across, though some hardware can be re-boarded. Send us the exact model and who supplied it, and we'll check before you plan around it.
Call us first, because a large share of faults turn out to be network, paper, battery or configuration and get solved on the phone in minutes. If it is a genuine hardware failure, we arrange the repair or replacement through Clover or Nuvei under the warranty and support terms that apply to your device. We confirm in writing what cover your specific hardware carries before you buy it, so there are no surprises on the day you need it.
Australia: +61 466 230 370. United States and Canada: +1 404 910 8918. Email support@swiftpaytoday.com at any hour and it reaches the same team. Our people work local business hours in each market, and the Clover and Nuvei platforms run their own support channels behind us for platform-level faults, so we'll tell you which line to use for which problem when you're onboarded.
Yes. Both Clover and Nuvei support online and card-not-present payments alongside in-store terminals, though the exact products available vary by country and platform. We'd rather set you up so your in-store and online payments sit under one merchant relationship than have you juggling two providers who don't talk to each other. Tell us what your website or booking system runs on and we'll confirm what's supported before you commit to anything.
Clover has an app marketplace and Nuvei offers integrations and APIs, so common accounting, e-commerce and ordering tools are frequently supported. Availability genuinely varies by country, platform and plan, so we never promise a specific integration until we've checked yours. Give us the exact software you use and we'll confirm in writing whether it's supported in your market, and tell you plainly if it isn't.
Least-cost routing, sometimes called merchant-choice routing, sends contactless dual-network debit transactions down the cheaper network, which for many Australian merchants means eftpos rather than the scheme debit rails. Whether it's available to you and how it's switched on depends on your platform and acquiring arrangement, so we confirm your routing configuration as part of setup. Ask us about it directly, because on a debit-heavy business it's one of the few settings that visibly changes your monthly bill.
Interac Debit accounts for a very large share of in-person card payments in Canada, so this matters more than it might seem. Support depends on the platform, the device and your merchant agreement rather than being automatic, so we confirm Interac acceptance for your exact setup before you order hardware. If you're comparing quotes from anyone else, make sure theirs covers it too.
Terms vary by platform, country, hardware option and whether you buy or rent, so we won't quote you a length here that might not be yours. Whatever applies to you, including any minimum term, notice period, early termination cost or hardware return obligation, is set out in the agreement you sign, and we walk you through those clauses before you sign rather than after. A good rule with any payments provider: if it isn't confirmed to you in writing, treat it as not agreed.
Card transactions run on Clover's and Nuvei's PCI DSS certified platforms, so the heavy certification work sits with them rather than with you or with SwiftPay. You still carry merchant-level obligations: completing whatever self-assessment your acquirer asks for, keeping devices physically secure, never writing card numbers down, and controlling who can get into your terminal and back office. We'll point you at the right forms and help you understand what they're asking, but the sign-off is yours to give.
Chargebacks are raised by the cardholder's bank and are decided on the acquirer's and processor's side, which means the partner platform rather than SwiftPay. You'll be notified through your platform's dispute process and given a window to respond with evidence such as receipts, delivery proof or terminal records. We'll help you gather that evidence and submit it properly, but nobody, including us, can guarantee an outcome, and you should be wary of anyone who says otherwise.
We use your enquiry details to reply to you, prepare a quote and set up your account with the relevant partner, and nothing else. Our privacy policy sets out what we collect, who we share it with and how to ask for a copy or deletion, and privacy requests go to support@swiftpaytoday.com. Worth knowing: this website doesn't process card payments and doesn't store cardholder data.
Call +61 466 230 370 in Australia or +1 404 910 8918 in the US and Canada, or email support@swiftpaytoday.com with your business type, roughly how you take payments today, and where you're located. We'll ask a short set of questions, recommend a platform and device mix with the reasoning attached, and send you a written quote you can compare against anyone else's. The quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing until you sign.
